Learning Blade system available for grades 5-9

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is excited to share the Learning Blade online system with all Mississippi public schools serving grades 5-9 in the areas of science, mathematics, computer science and CTE.

Learning Blade is an online interactive system that is aligned to the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards (MS – CCRS) and includes more than 400 interactive online student lessons, teacher lesson plans and printable at-home activities.  In addition, students have the ability to learn about high-demand STEM careers through human-centered “missions” embedded throughout the system.

All schools serving students in grades 5-9 are asked to apply for their free license, watch a five-minute informational video, and attend one of the webinars listed below by Dec. 2.

Through the allocation of GEER funds, the Governor’s office has partnered with the University of Southern Mississippi to provide all Mississippi public schools a free license and technical support for the Learning Blade system.

“Learning Blade is a great addition to our initiatives to help improve student achievement in Mississippi, especially as they support core academics which helps increase proficiency,” Dr. Carey Wright, state superintendent of education. “Students having a chance to see the relationship between these academics and careers will better prepare our future workforce.”
