Jumpstart Test Prep Review Resources school selections announced for 2024-25

Jumpstart Test Prep (Jumpstart), through Mississippi Legislative appropriation partnered with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) to select pilot schools for the 2024-25 school year.

The pilot program is aimed at helping public high school students increase ACT® (juniors), ACT WorkKeys®, and Algebra 1 EOC performance, and Jumpstart efficacy research has demonstrated substantial gains over prior-best scoresThis year’s selected cohort of public high schools will receive support, resources, and program guidance to further improve school performance on these assessments.  Selected schools were randomly drawn by a third party and complete details can be found here:  https://jumpstarttestprep.com/pilot/2024-2025-mississippi-pilot-act-act-workkeys-algeb.

Jumpstart Test Prep will meet to discuss program and efficacy research with any interested district or school, regardless of pilot program participation.

Jumpstart StartUps ACT®-Aligned Video “Bellringer” Selection Results
A total of 59 high schools and middle schools applied for funding for the StartUps program, representing approximately 30,259 students. Grant funding for the 2024-25 school year to provide access to the Jumpstart StartUps ACT®-aligned video “bellringer” repository is made available to these applicant sites:

A total of 50 schools applied for funding through for the Jumpstart Test Prep Complete ACT® Review program. Third-party methodology and the resulting random draw resulted with allocation for Jumpstart Test Prep’s Complete ACT® Review Program for seven Mississippi public schools representing approximately 588 juniors. The selected schools (with those schools’ 2021 ACT® composite average scores in parentheses for reference) were the following schools:

  • Biggersville Hiigh School (17.5)
  • Byhalia High School (14.8)
  • Hamilton Attendance Center (17.3)
  • Madison Shannon Palmer High School (13.4)
  • Northeast Lauderdale High School (15.5)
  • O’Bannon High School (14.0)
  • Southeast Lauderdale High School (17.5)

 Complete ACT WorkKeys® Review Pilot Random Selection Results
A total of 53 schools applied for funding for the Jumpstart Test Prep ACT WorkKeys® Review program.  Third-party methodology and the resulting random draw resulted with allocation for the program for six Mississippi public schools representing approximately 950 students. The selected schools were the following schools:

  • Smithville Attendance Center
  • Wayne County Career and Technical Center

Complete Algebra 1 EOC Review Pilot Random Selection Results

A total of 47 schools applied for funding for the Algebra 1 EOC Review Assessment program. Third-party methodology and the resulting random draw resulted with allocation for the Jumpstart Test Prep Complete Algebra 1 EOC Review Assessment for 10 Mississippi public schools representing approximately 1,575 students. The selected schools include the following schools:
