Jumpstart Test Prep resources school selections announced for 2025-26

Jumpstart Test Prep (Jumpstart), through Mississippi legislative appropriation to the Mississippi Department of Education, announces pilot schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The pilot program is aimed at helping public high school students increase ACT® (juniors), ACT WorkKeys®, and Algebra I / English II EOC performance, and third-party efficacy research has demonstrated substantial gains over prior-best scoresThis year’s selected cohort of public high schools will receive support, resources, and program guidance to improve school performance on these assessments. Jumpstart Test Prep will meet to discuss programs and efficacy research with any interested district or school, regardless of pilot program participation.

Jumpstart StartUps ACT®-Aligned Video “Bellringer” Selection Results
The following 67 Mississippi public schools applied for funding for the StartUps program, representing approximately 31,000 students. Site license teacher access to the Jumpstart StartUps ACT®-aligned video “bellringer” repository is made available to these applicant sites. The ACT® 2024 Spring Junior Average for these schools was 17.03 as compared to the state average of 17.5 for all schools.

Third-party methodology and the resulting random draw resulted with allocation for Jumpstart Test Prep’s Complete ACT® Review Program for four Mississippi public schools representing approximately 625 juniors. The selected schools (with those schools’ Spring Junior Average 2024 ACT® composite scores in parentheses for reference) were the following schools:

  •  Hancock High School (19.5)
  • West Lincoln High School (19.3)
  • Yazoo City High School (N/A)
  • Yazoo County High School (15.1)
  • New Albany High School (17.7) and Wayne County High School (16.6) are added to the selection results bringing the total to six Mississippi public schools representing approximately 976 juniors.

Third-party methodology and the resulting random draw resulted with allocation for the Jumpstart Test Prep’s Complete WorkKeys Review Program for seven Mississippi public schools representing approximately 1,242 testing students. The selected schools (with those schools’ Spring Junior Average 2024 ACT® composite scores in parentheses for reference) were the following schools:

  • Blue Mountain High School (20.1)
  • Enterprise Attendance Center (16.8)
  • George County High School (18.4)
  • Northeast Lauderdale High (16.4)

The selected schools (with those schools’ Spring Junior Average 2024 ACT® composite scores in parentheses for reference) were the following schools:

  • Aberdeen High School (15.9)
  • Kosciusko High School (17.4)
  • Ripley High School (18.4)
  • Terry High School (16.5)
  • Booneville High School (19) is added to the selection results bringing the total to five Mississippi public schools representing approximately 1,080 juniors.
