The Issues of International Trade workshop for Mississippi middle and high school teachers of social studies and economics is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.
Description: International trade policy is currently in the news but understanding the key points of ongoing trade issues is more complicated than a headline. Issues of International Trade provides an economics-based approach to understanding trade between countries, including topics such as comparative advantage, incentives, opportunity costs, resources, and of course, tariffs. This one-day workshop will examine these issues via lectures and practical classroom activities, all of which will enable educators to use economic reasoning concepts to present current events and facilitate student comprehension in their own classrooms.
