I want to take a moment to let you know Khan Academy is now offering a free online training program for teachers through its new Khan Academy Teacher Training. The 60-minute, self-paced training program will help teachers—and their students—get the most out of Khan Academy’s extensive list of free online courses.

WHAT
Khan Academy Teacher Training is a free, 60-minute, self-paced training program that helps teachers get the most out of Khan Academy.
WHY
To overcome the barriers preventing teachers from using Khan Academy more. The teacher insight is clear: teachers want and need training and support on how to incorporate Khan Academy into their teaching practices.
OBJECTIVES
Teachers want to be able to confidently use Khan Academy and understand how to integrate Khan into their classroom routines. Our training helps them understand:
- how to use Khan for in-class practice, homework, review and test prep
- how to use Khan to differentiate, remediate and enrich their student’s lives
- the student experience and how to use our simple, powerful features designed especially for teachers to use Khan Academy with their students.
HOW IT WORKS & INCENTIVES
Teachers simply log into their free Khan Academy account and complete a simple 3-part checklist. They watch short videos to understand classroom strategies, take a product tour, and complete an action plan so they build their commitment to using Khan for BTS. Teachers earn a Certificate of Completion, and get chances to win a free trip to Khan Academy!

HEAR FROM REAL TEACHERS
The training features seven real teachers in their classrooms. You can see how Amy, Heather, Ryan, Brooke, Wendy, Fernando, and Andrea use Khan Academy with their students. Using the insights on effective teacher professional development from “Teachers Know Best: Teachers’ Views on Professional Development” (2014), our program showcases real teachers in bite-sized chunks.
