Every Student Counts Math Conference set for June 11-12; Proposals due Feb. 13

The Mississippi Department of Education, Office of Curriculum and Instruction, Division of Mathematics Coaching, invites mathematics educators and instructional leaders to attend the Second Annual Moving Mathematics in Mississippi: Every Student Counts Conference, taking place June 11–12, at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Hospitality Resort Management Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.

This year’s conference theme, “Inspiring a Love for Math from Kindergarten to College: Every Learner. Every Grade. Every Day” emphasizes engaging, practical, and effective mathematics instruction for all students.

The conference will focus on strengthening mathematics teaching and learning through sessions that address:

  • Implementation of the Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards (MS-CCRS)
  • Effective use of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM)
  • Building conceptual understanding, fluency, and problem-solving
  • Differentiation and intervention to support diverse learners
  • Promoting mathematical discourse and reasoning
  • Integrating technology and real-world applications
  • Leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement in mathematics education
