The Mississippi Department of Education Office of Curriculum and Instruction announces an opportunity for a deep dive into the instruction of English learners. Interested districts should complete an interest form by March 30. The office will begin an initial cohort of two districts for the 2026-27 school year that will support districts to:
- Develop a deeper understanding of English Learner (EL) implementation elements to support EL academic and linguistic growth
- Understand the variation in EL programming through the use of multiple tools
- Establish a district action plan for improvement
- Receive district specific support

Interested districts will receive more information regarding the application process after the initial interest deadline date.
