EMCED Leadership Institute offering trainings until April 2024

The East Mississippi Center for Educational Development (EMCED) is offering training for K-12 administrators needing professional learning opportunities to address leadership practices that administrators face daily in their local school and districts.

The EMCED Leadership Institute is comprised of nine modules based on the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) and are scheduled throughout the school year allowing participants to make the commitment to prepare, communicate and practice skills of the training.

The first module will start in August 2023, and sessions will conclude with module nine in April 2024. Participants will have access to the best trainers in the state, with current superintendents, former superintendents, district personnel and college professors leading the trainings.

 Module 5 Dec. 6-7, 2023  Special Education and the School Leader   Wendy Rogers and Dr. Tony McGee

 Module 6 Jan. 25-26, 2024  School Finance and Budgets  Paige Bromen & Dr. Andy Schoggin

 Module 7 Feb. 28-29,2024  Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment  Dr. Kim LaFontaine and Angy Graham

 Module 8 Mar. 20-21, 2024  The Leaders Role in Public Relations and Technology  Chris Chism and Dr. Lance Evans

 Module 9 Apr. 10-11, 2024  Setting the Stage for Success, Finishing Strong  Dr. George Gilreath and Mike Neyman

 Each module is a two-day training with 10 SEMI’s and 1 OSL offered. Each module is a stand-alone training. Participants may attend one, two or all nine modules. The cost for each module is $160 for EMCED members and $220 for non-members.
