DRC BEACON webinar set for Jan. 13

Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) will host a General Information Webinar at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 13, to provide key information about DRC BEACON, an interim assessment tool designed for grades 3–8.

What is DRC BEACON?

DRC BEACON is an interim assessment system that helps Mississippi educators:

  • Identify student learning needs
  • Measure academic progress throughout the year
  • Provide real-time online reports
  • Available at no charge to districts

The assessment provides valuable insights at multiple points during the school year, supporting data-driven instruction and student growth. This webinar is being provided to help districts and schools determine whether they plan to use BEACON during the 2025–26 school year. Increasing participation this year will also help ensure that MAAP predictions can be generated for the 2026–27 school year.

Who Should Attend?

This webinar is especially recommended for District Test Coordinators (DTCs) and other school or district-level decision-makers who may be considering whether their site will administer DRC BEACON during the school year. The session will provide an overview to help inform those decisions and support planning.

If you are unable to attend the live session, the recorded webinar will be available on the DRC INSIGHT Portal documents page shortly after the event.

If you would like to learn more about DRC BEACON prior to the webinar, a DRC BEACON Brochure, FAQs, and previously hosted webinars are available now on the DRC INSIGHT Portal. These resources can be found by navigating to My Applications > General Information> Documents.
