The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE)’s Office of Teaching and Leading will launch the virtual Mentoring and Induction Community of Practice on Sept. 23. Deadline for school districts to register is Sept. 19.
Effective mentoring and induction are critical to teacher success, retention, and student outcomes. This Community of Practice is designed to support K-12 districts as they strengthen existing mentor and induction programs or develop new, high-quality systems of support for beginning teachers. Sessions will provide the opportunity for school and district leaders to share best practices, collaboratively problem-solve challenges, network with peers who are committed to supporting new teachers, and access resources and tools designed to help build a sustainable, high-quality mentor and induction program.
To join the Community of Practice, register using this link by Sep. 19.
