Core Elements in the Science Classroom hybrid professional development available; Register by Jan. 7

The Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) at The University of Mississippi is excited to announce the second course in the Core Elements professional development series Jan. 12 to Feb. 24. Registration deadline is Jan. 7. This course will provide science teachers the opportunity to earn CEUs while participating in timely, relevant learning.

Science and Society and the History of Science are two of the six core elements used to design the 2018 Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards for Science yet their practical role in the classroom may seem vague. Teachers will explore each element, analyze examples and collaborate with peers, building a better understanding of how to incorporate these elements within their science curriculum.

This is a hybrid professional development session where participants will engage in asynchronous online activities before attending a one-day, in-person session.

This course offers 1.2 CEUs. The grade band is K-12.

Registration deadline is Jan. 7, 2022
