CCSSO Restart and Recovery Resources and State Updates
CCSSO Resources/Updates
- CCSSO Webinar in collaboration with AASA and NAESP: Declining Kindergarten Enrollment – What can be done about the decline in public school enrollment? on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 4:00-5:00 pm ET: According to the recent study, What We’re Learning: COVID 19 and Education: Notable Findings and Data Sources, over 38 percent of U.S. families with children in the K-12 grade range have “disenrolled” their children from their local public schools. This unplanned drop in 2020-2021 enrollments is having a negative impact on public education in multiple regards—most concerningly, by causing or exacerbating deep educational inequities in terms of missed learning opportunities, especially for vulnerable student populations, leading to long-term disparities in academic outcomes. Join us for a robust discussion on how state and local leaders can address enrollment challenges in this current environment. CCSSO CEO Carissa Moffat Miller will moderate a discussion with New Mexico Secretary of Education Ryan Stewart, a district superintendent, and a school principal. Please register for the webinar here. CCSSO also has a forthcoming resource that we will share with states soon on this topic.
- CCSSO Webinar: Updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. ET: CCSSO is pleased to again welcome the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to share updates on COVID-19 guidance and considerations for K-12 settings. New guidance and research are being published this month, and the CDC is eager to share this new information with SEAs and to respond to your questions. Please share any questions you might have about CDC guidance in advance of this webinar at communications@ccsso.org. You can join this webinar at this link.
