Call for Early Learning Activities

The Mississippi Department of Education, Head Start Collaboration Office, Families First for Mississippi, Early Childhood Academy, Mississippi Department of Health Child Care Licensure, and Mississippi Department of Human Services are currently collaborating to revise existing and develop new Early Learning Activities. The Early Learning Activities will align with the Early Learning Standards for Classrooms Serving Infants through Four-Year-Old Children and will serve as a supplemental resource for early childhood educators working in the classroom.  We anticipate this resource will be available spring 2019.

This is a Call for Early Learning Activities. We value your input and are requesting your expertise as we develop this support document. This opportunity is being extended to all early childhood educators across the state. There is no limit to the number of activities that an individual or group can submit.

All activities submitted must align with any of the three (3) following themes:

  1. In My Backyard
  2. Me on the Map (Mississippi related)
  3. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

The deadline for emailing submissions is Friday, November 30, 2018. Please click here to access the template to use when completing your submission. Be creative and detailed in your submission. All submissions must be completed electronically and emailed to

Selected activities will be modified if necessary.  All selected and approved activities will be reviewed by early childhood coaches, educators, and administrators in the state as the document is developed and finalized.  Each individual or group that submits a selected and approved activity will be recognized as a contributor in the final document.
