Transition Conference: Do you have a student with a visual impairment? Want to know more about Transition? If so, please see the attached Flyer and Agenda for the upcoming online MS Association for the Education and Rehabilitation for Blind and Visually Impaired (MAER) annual conference, October 8 – 10th. Through the Beyond Vision Loss: Partnerships for Successful Transition Toward Autonomy Conference, you will be able to

  • Describe strategies and skills necessary to launch students with visual impairments for successful transition to post-secondary goals.
  • Identify and select resources that are needed to be successful in reaching individual’s desired goals.
  • Recognize the multidisciplinary nature of professionals involved in the continuum of the transition of persons with visual impairment.
  • Learn to address disparities in access to successful employment.

The Conference content is geared toward meeting the needs of Parents, Students with visual impairments, Counselors, Special Educators (Transition Coordinators, Paraprofessionals, Teachers), Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapists, Occupational Therapist, Teachers of the Visually Impaired, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, Certified Low Vision Therapists, School Administrators, Veterans, Employers, Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialists, Social Workers, Visual Impairment Services Team Coordinators, and Advocates.
