Applications open to National STEM Teacher Corps Pilot Program

The Mississippi STEM Education Alliance (MSEA), housed at the Center for Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Mississippi, is announcing that applications for the National STEM Teacher Corps (NSTC) Pilot Program are now open.  The program will select 16 outstanding middle and high school mathematics teachers from across Mississippi to serve as statewide STEM leaders. The application deadline is Feb. 20, 2026.

NSTC members will receive an annual stipend, participate in funded professional learning, and help design and facilitate endorsement pathways in Middle Math and Algebra and Geometry, with some members having the opportunity to create a high school course in Statistics and Data Literacy — all while continuing to teach at their current schools. Eligible applicants must have at least five years of teaching experience and be engaged in classroom instruction for 50% of their employment time at the start of summer 2026.
