The Center for Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Mississippi is offering a two-day Algebra professional development institute for Grades 6-Algebra I teachers. During this institute, teachers will explore strategies and tools for introducing students to algebraic reasoning, including conceptual development of integer operations, solving equations, and connecting algebra to prior mathematics learning. Participants will also explore common misconceptions that students have related to graphing, slope, and functions.

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with one-hour lunch break
