Accelerate MS plans Nov. 13 meeting on EquipMS Grant Program

Accelerate MS will host a Teams meeting from 1-1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13,  to provide more information on the EquipMS Grant program that was established in 2023 through House Bill 588 as the Mississippi K-12 Workforce Development Grant program.

The grant program provides funding to public Mississippi secondary school districts career technical programs to modernize, replace, or otherwise enhance priority sector high school programs. Priority sector programs include those leading to occupations in the following sectors:

  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Energy
  • Healthcare
  • Information technology
  • Logistics and construction

In this initial year, priority will be given to purchasing or upgrading equipment.  The office anticipates awarding up to $1 million total this fiscal year with an average award range between $25,000 and $150,000, and a period of performance of not more than one calendar year. Documented match funding is strongly recommended. Requests should detail the need of local industry and how the associated program meets that need, the specific budgeted items, and any leveraged funds.
