Mississippi Hearing-Vision Project (MH-VP) staff are available to support you, your staff and families of children and youth (birth – 21 years) who have BOTH a hearing impairment AND a visual impairment. We are grant funded through the U. S. Office of Special Education and located at The University of Southern Mississippi.

  • What you get: FREE technical assistance regarding instructional strategies, resources, and professional development for how to best provide ACCESS to the curriculum when both primary senses are impaired.
  • Who gets service? All teachers, related service providers, administrators and families provide general and special education, early intervention instruction, and families.

NEED CEUS?  Mississippi Hearing-Vision Project offers FREE online Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Modules. Two Cohorts are being offered immediately after the holidays!

Created through grant funding by the National Center on Deaf-Blindness, these Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Modules provide evidence-based instructional strategies, information and resources for students with severe complexities, including vision and hearing impairments. Both Cohorts are open to families, educators, paraprofessionals, early childhood interventionists, administrators, and related service providers serving any age.

Each module takes about 7 hours to complete and participants work through the chosen set of three modules between January 4 through to February 20 at your own pace. Continuing education credits are available for the fully completed set of modules, and yield .7 ceus or 7 contact hours per module totaling 2.1 CEU for $15.
