Head Back to School with Free Online Learning Resources

With the school year starting around the country, ExcelinEd is sharing two virtual learning resources on civics education for students, teachers and parents to use in classrooms or at-home settings.

On August 31, the National Constitution Center is launching the Exchange Program offering free and live online classes on constitutional topics for middle school, high school and college-level students. These online classes allow learners to practice civil dialogue skills, apply critical thinking and active listening and learn about the Constitution and how it affects their lives. The programs are a unique way to build constitutional knowledge using the National Constitution Center’s acclaimed online learning platform, the Interactive Constitution, which includes opportunities for students to engage with constitutional experts and guest scholars.

ExcelinEd’s video series, Class In Session with Jeb Bush, also offers free learning opportunities for students. Hosted by Florida’s 43rd Governor Jeb Bush, these 20-minute virtual conversations draw out personal and professional experiences from some of our nation’s top visionaries. The student-focused series begins with Dr. Condoleezza Rice, 66th U.S. Secretary of State, sharing insights on the importance of democracy and civic engagement to the future of our country. Other topics in the series include government, leadership, computer science, entrepreneurship and grit. A teacher guide with each video includes prompts for classroom or home discussion and further learning.
