The Mississippi Department of Education is pleased to announce the preliminary release of a set of Instructional Planning Guides (IPGs) in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science.
The purpose of the IPGs is to assist teachers in planning rigorous, coherent lessons that focus on critical content at each grade level through an intentional grouping of standards, time considerations, and resources for consideration. These may be particularly useful to teachers who do not have access to planning materials that accompany high-quality instructional materials.
The IPGs may be accessed by clicking the links below or by visiting the Secondary Education homepage, located at www.mdek12.org/ESE/home. Each IPG is currently provided in a draft Word version to encourage immediate implementation and facilitate lesson planning at the local level.
We welcome and encourage feedback as teachers begin to use the IPGs. Feedback can be sent to InstructionalPlanningGuides@mdek12.orgby Friday, October 2, 2020. Staff will review feedback and make appropriate updates for a re-release in Spring 2021.
If you have any questions about the IPGs, please contact Dr. Marla Davis at mdavis@mdek12.org. We encourage you to share this release with your classroom teachers.
