The MDE, through the Office of Intervention Services, is offering regional trainings providing strategies and supports for motivating and engaging students. Sessions will include guidance on progress monitoring Tier II students, how to intervene for students who are chronically absent, and how to address behaviors utilizing the counselors in your building. Targeted participants are general education teachers, counselors, interventionists, special education teachers, MTSS chairs, and others involved with the MTSS process at the building level.
The training will consist of an opening session followed by breakout sessions that will provide behavioral supports for students as they move throughout the tiers.
There are no limitations on the number of participants per district and districts are not assigned to a Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA). Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis at http://nmec.msresaservices.com/s/event/search?search=behavior+and+beyond&description=true.
Contact the RESA if there are questions about registration. Contact Jayda Brantley at jbrantley@mdek12.org in the Office of Elementary Education and Reading if there are questions for the MDE.
