Attendance Improvement Institutes offered across Mississippi from Feb. 24 – May 16

The North Mississippi Education Consortium (NMEC), in collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Compulsory School Attendance and Dropout Prevention, is partnering with the National Dropout Prevention Center to offer regional Attendance Improvement Institutes for school district teams from Feb. 24 – May 16 at various locations across Mississippi. These institutes will provide participating schools a structured process to develop and implement tailored attendance improvement plans.

The Attendance Improvement Institute is a two-day event designed to help school teams create research-based and effective attendance improvement strategies that have a high chance of significantly increasing attendance rates. Moreover, the institute will equip school teams with the necessary professional development to support and sustain their initiatives at the school level.

Throughout this two-day event, teams will work together to produce and implement customized and actionable plans. By the end of the institute, participating teams will have practical school plans, strategies for execution, and connections to ongoing support and resources to ensure the sustainability of their efforts over time.
