Mississippi Hearing-Vision Project offers Newcomer Cohort; Register by Dec. 5

Need SEMIs/OSL or CEU credit? Do you have students with complex learning needs?  If so, Mississippi Hearing-Vision Project (MHVP) offers online training at no cost to educators, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators.

Register for the next online Newcomer Cohort which uses The Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Deaf-Blind Modules.

Each Newcomers’ Cohort works to complete at least three modules (about 23 hours) over six weeks of engagement. Each module is estimated to take seven hours for completion.  You can earn 15 SEMI Credits or 1 OSL Credit or 2.3 CEUs for completing the “Newcomers Cohort” module engagement.

Newcomers’ Set of Modules (Cohort 10, Set 1I) includes:

Welcome and Orientation Module (teaches you how to work in Moodle, the learning platform.)

Module 1: Overview of Deafblindness and Instructional Strategies

Module 2: Sensory Systems, Brain & Learning

Module 4: Building Trusting Relationships & Positive Self-Image

Newcomers’ Modules’ Online Kick-Off will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 4 p.m. when all modules will open. The Kick-off will be recorded. The deadline to complete the full set of three modules is Feb. 17.
