The Mississippi Council on Economic Education will host a teacher workshop titled The Realities of Socialism (Part 2) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 in Jackson.
Description: In this workshop, the major themes of socialism will be explored through captivating stories from Poland, Estonia, Denmark, and Sweden. It will also look at how Singapore’s unique approach stands out in contrast. This workshop will cover ideas of what socialism really means —past and present. With hands-on activities, creative discussions, and eye-opening data, attendees will discover the evolving ideas behind socialist thought. Plus, attendees will leave with classroom-ready activities to help students better understand the realities of socialism.
