Registration is open to the Mississippi Literacy Association Conference

Registration is open to the 53rd Annual Mississippi Literacy Association Conference: Literacy is Sweet! set for Dec. 4-6 at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The Mississippi Literacy Association in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education Office of Elementary Education and Reading, Division of Literacy will host the conference to focus on promoting literacy instruction for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

With a continued momentum of improving literacy and learning outcomes for all students, sessions will focus on Early Literacy (kindergarten through grade 3), Adolescent Literacy (grades 4 through 8), and other aspects of teaching and learning (English Language Learners, Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Classroom Management, SPED, etc.).

 Keynote speakers include:

  • Eddie Brown – Teacher/comedian
  • Elsa Hagan, Ed.D. – President of Valley Speech Language and Learning Center
  • Kareem Weaver – Co-founder and executive director of FULCRUM
  • Kim Bearden – Co-founder, executive director and Language Arts teacher at Ron Clark Academy
  • Tracy Stock –  Workplace culture expert and author
