Mississippi State University’s Center for Cyber Education is providing school districts the opportunity to offer Exploring Computer Science (ECS) and AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) to their students via an online class for the 2024-25 school year at no cost.
Per House Bill 633, all high schools must offer a computer science course starting the 2024-25 school year. This online program allows you to offer a computer science course, be in compliance with the law and avoid additional costs to your district.
The Center for Cyber Education will provide the teacher and tutors for all students taking these courses. Your school would need to provide a space for the students to work, computer and Wi-Fi for student use, and a facilitator (certified or non-certified staff member) to monitor attendance and student participation. In addition to offering the AP CSP course, the Center for Cyber Education will cover the cost associated with that AP exam.
Space is limited. For more information concerning this opportunity or to sign-up, please email thecs4ms@gmail.com.
