MDE, National Dropout Prevention Center to host chronic absenteeism, dropout prevention conference May 21-22 in Jackson

The Mississippi Department of Education, in conjunction with the National Dropout Prevention Center, invites you to join the State Chronic Absenteeism and Dropout Prevention Conference on Tuesday, May 21 – Wednesday, May 22 at the Hilton Jackson, 1001 E County Line Road in Jackson, Mississippi.

This two-day event will delve into the pressing issues of attendance. The conference will feature a series of presentations and breakout sessions led by experts in the field, offering insights into innovative strategies and practical approaches for enhancing student engagement and preventing dropout. The conference will also serve as a platform for sharing best practices and experiences, while fostering a deeper understanding of how to address chronic absenteeism and other attendance issues effectively.

School administrators are encouraged to send a team.  Seats are limited to the first 250 registered individuals.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Jackson.
