Elementary Computer Science teachers, assistant teachers can register now for the Summer Institute

In June and July, the Center for Cyber Education will be providing training opportunities for both new Elementary Computer Science teachers and returning Elementary Computer Science teachers who want to deepen their knowledge of computer science skills. Assistant teachers that will be teaching computer science for the first time or want to advance their skills are welcome to register for these professional development opportunities.

Elementary Computer Science Summer Institute for Beginners
In this two-day training, elementary educators will review the Mississippi-College-and-Career-Readiness Standards for Computer Science to better understand the skills that need to be taught at each grade level.  In addition to the standards, participants will examine cross-curricular connections between computer science and other content areas, explore ways to integrate computer science instruction, model computer science lessons, and practice coding and robotic skills. Participants that complete both days of training are eligible for 1.2 CEUs.
