The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) announces the release of a resource guide titled Artificial Intelligence: Guidance for K-12 Classrooms and a webinar about artificial intelligence (AI) set for April 17.
Artificial Intelligence: Guidance for K-12 Classrooms is a resource designed to provide procedural guidance and instructional strategies to district leaders, school leaders and classroom teachers on how to appropriately use artificial intelligence (AI) in schools. The guide starts with a definition of AI and explores its impact on the classroom. It also highlights how students, teachers and administrators can leverage AI, and what factors should be taken into consideration when developing a policy for AI use.
Additionally, the MDE will host a webinar from 2-4 p.m. April 17. Chris Chism, superintendent of Pearl Public School District, will be the special guest during the webinar and share some exciting ways he is already harnessing the power of AI to support productivity. District leaders, technology staff, school leaders and teachers are invited to register for this event. If you can’t attend live, a recording of the webinar will be shared on the Digital Learning Resources webpage.
