Speakers announced for Mississippi Literacy Association Conference: No Place Like Home

 

The keynote and featured speakers have been announced for the 52nd Annual Mississippi Literacy Association Conference: No Place Like Home! set for Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The speakers will be: Dr. Malbert Smith, III; ceo and co-founder of Metametrics; Dr. Kymyona Burk, senior policy fellow at ExcelinEd; Steve Gilliand of CPAE, Becca Silver, founder and ceo of The Whole Educator; Dr. Rebecca Harper, associate professor of literacy at Augusta University; Dr. Laurie Lee, senior research associate at Florida State University; and Dr. Kevin Smith, senior research associate at Florida State Univeristy.

The Mississippi Literacy Association (MLA) in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education’s Division of Literacy and North Mississippi Education Consortium (NMEC) will host the conference.

This conference will focus on promoting high quality literacy practices for kindergarten through 8th grade educators.
