The Mississippi Department of Education Office of Special Education will host a 504 IDEA Legal summit May 8-9 at the Candance Bank Arena and Conference Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
This training will provide participants with a comprehensive overview and comparison of Section 504 and IDEA including how the two laws intersect, identification, implementation of services to ensure a FAPE, documentation, and legal requirements as it relates to students with disabilities. The training will include two full days of professional learning where participants work through hands-on scenarios, practical tips, case law, and legal guidance on Section 504 and IDEA with nationally acclaimed educational attorneys: Betsey Helfrich and Anne Bradley.
