Teachers should apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program by Oct. 31.
This program requires 10 years of service in exchange for complete debt elimination. The program has been cumbersome for years, but the rules were recently relaxed and as long as paperwork is submitted on time, even if you haven’t paid a dime during the pause for Covid, the entire pause period counts.
