The Mississippi Department of Education will host a brief webinar at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, to review the elementary school requirements of the Mississippi Computer Science and Cyber Education Equality Act.
Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year 50% of elementary schools in each district are required to provide one hour of computer science instruction per week, with all elementary schools providing one hour of computer science instruction per week by the 2023-2024 school year.
Additionally, all middle schools in each district will provide instruction in foundations of computer science in the upcoming 2022-2023 school year, with 50% of high schools in each district offering a course in computer science by the 2023-2024 school year.
By the 2024-2025 school year, all schools in each district will offer computer science instruction.
