The Master Teacher in Personal Finance (MTPF) program is a 75-hour online course available to middle school and high school teachers. Registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.
From the MTPF program educators will get the personal finance content necessary to teach a high school personal finance course or to incorporate the topic into other courses, i.e. business, math, ICT, and College and Career Readiness. In addition to content instruction, teachers will learn about a variety of high-quality resources they can use to teach the content in the classroom.
The content and classroom resources are aligned with National Standards for Financial Literacy produced by the national Council for Economic Education. Teachers that complete the program are required to participate with students in the MCEE Personal Finance Challenge Online. This program is offered as a collaboration between the Mississippi Council on Economic Education, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and The Mississippi Department of Education.
When:
- Synchronous – Virtual orientation via Zoom Monday, Feb. 1, 2022 from 5-7:30 p.m. (attendance required)
- Asynchronous- Assignments completed by Thursday, April 1, 2022

- Ability to download and upload documents
- Microphone and camera
Benefits include 7.5 CEUs, access to student course, $500 stipend and 941 Personal Finance (7-12) endorsement for teaching license.
