The Mississippi Department of Education, through the Office of Special Education, is pleased to offer the “Tuning In” teacher chat for the month of November. This Special Education teacher chat session is scheduled for November 10, 2021 at 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and will focus on the Relationship of Hearing Loss to Listening and Learning Needs Developed by Anderson & Matkin (2007). Teachers of students with hearing impairment will have an opportunity to examine possible impacts on the understanding of speech and language, recognize the social and emotional impacts, and identify recommended accommodations and educational supports. Collaborating and sharing resources are essential to building a strong and sustainable statewide Special Education professional community. The session will be facilitated by Ashten Yost, Special Education Professional Development Coordinator (Hearing Impaired). Featured guests will be teachers across the state, new and novice, that will share their best and brightest ideas. We hope you will be “TUNING IN” for this session!
