Program Meetings
The 2021-2022 MS-EPFP Program will be a combination of online and in-person meetings from September 2021 through April 2022. Most meetings will be virtual. In-person meetings will include two face-to-face meetings in Jackson and an optional trip to Washington DC (in March of 2022) for the Washington Policy Seminar (subject to changing conditions and CDC and MDH recommendations).
During the program, fellows remain in their full-time positions and use their environment as the context for examining important leadership and policy issues in Mississippi, including the skills to deal effectively with the people and institutions that shape public policy, and build your capacity to work effectively in collaborative settings. You will have the opportunity deepen your understanding of how policy is made, learn about the hurdles to successful policy implementation, advocate for those issues on the state and national scale, and meet with some policymakers and legislators.
