Chiefs for Change Shares Resources and Fall 2021 School Reopening Toolkit

Chiefs for Change shared resources for fall 2021 school reopening.

  1. Our Fall 2021 School Reopening Toolkit. Created in collaboration with top national experts, the toolkit is intended to help districts safely reopen and remain open for full, uninterrupted, in-person learning this school year. It compiles into a single toolkit all relevant resources that Chiefs for Change and our partners have produced throughout the pandemic, along with new information from the CDC, EPA, and U.S. Department of Education on air quality and ventilation. The toolkit is focused on the following areas: implementing public health protocols to mitigate risk; ensuring sufficient COVID-19 testing, tracking, and reporting; promoting vaccinations for eligible staff and students; and assessing campus ventilation and air filtration systems.

We have also produced a related communications toolkit. Please contact Chief External Affairs Officer Leila Walsh, at lwalsh@chiefsforchange.org, if you are interested in receiving the toolkit.

  1. A set of recommendations for maximizing the amount of in-person instruction during the 2021-22 school year. Developed after the release of recent CDC guidelines, this document is primarily focused on what districts can do to limit the number and impact of quarantines for students and staff.
  1. An overview of current news regarding the Delta variant. We will continue to provide these overviews in the coming weeks.
  1. summary of incentive programs designed to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations. Vaccination incentive programs have been implemented in educational and non-educational settings throughout the country. While there is limited evidence regarding outcomes, it appears that at least some of the programs are driving uptake in vaccinations.

If you have questions about these resources, please do not hesitate to contact the team at cfcta@chiefsforchange.org.
