PAEMST Nomination

Are you or someone you know a K-6th grade Science, Math or Technology teacher with a passion for teaching and learning that has positively impacted student achievement and the professional development environment of your school or the community?

If you answered “YES”, the Mississippi Department of Education is looking for you!

The National Science Foundation is currently accepting nominations and applications for exceptional K-6th Science, Math and Technology teachers for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program. PAEMST are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K–12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching.

The nomination deadline is January 7, 2022, and all applications and completed portfolios MUST be submitted through the PAEMST portal by February 6, 2022, for consideration. Click here for more information on how to make a nomination or to apply.

To support applicants throughout the application process, PAEMST hosts webinars  and provides additional resources throughout the cycle, which will also provide an in-depth look at the application, feature tips from alumni, and answer your questions.

For additional information, take time to watch a brief video from previous awardees and read the PAEMST brochure. If you have any questions, please contact the MDE PAEMST State Coordinators, Dr. Kevin Gaylor (kgaylor@mdek12.org) or Tommisha Johnson (tjohnson@mdek12.org).
