USDE Releases Resource Documents for Addressing the Immediate Needs of Students

The USDE remains intensely focused on supporting state departments of education, school districts, and K-12 schools in addressing the immediate needs of their students.

Recent resources from the USDE include the COVID-19 Handbook Volume 1: Strategies for Safely Reopening Elementary and Secondary Schools and Volume 2: Roadmap to Reopening Safely and Meeting All Students’ Needs.   These two resources include guidance for state, district, and school-level administrators in the areas of:

  • Safe practices for in-person learning
  • Creating safe and healthy learning environments
  • Addressing lost instructional time
  • Supporting staff stability and well-being

Leaders are encouraged to review and share these resources as they consider summer learning and re-opening schools in the Fall.
