MDE will host a virtual 3-day informational training on construction regulations with ESSER funds on April 21-23, 2021, 8:30-12:30 pm each day. Brustein and Manasevit, PLLC, and the Mississippi Development Authority will provide specific information regarding the use of ESSER funds for construction. We ask all ESSER coordinators, business managers, superintendents, and board attorneys to attend this unique training.
April 21-22 (8:30 am – 12:30 pm) – Presentation from Brustein and Manasevit, PPLC
- Review of various labor/construction laws and acts
- EDGAR compliance and Procurement
- Parameters around construction with ESSER funds
- Specific requirements for constructions contracts
April 23 (Session 1: 8:30 am – 10:30 am; Session 2: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm) – Presentation from Mississippi Development Authority
- Repeated Session – register for only one session on this day (Limit: 300 participants)
- Energy efficiency related to the standards of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
