New Practice Guide: Helping Struggling K-6 Math Students
The What Works Clearinghouse has released a new Practice Guide to assist students struggling with mathematics in grades K-6. The guide provides evidence-based practices that can help teachers tailor their instructional approaches and/or their math intervention programs to meet the needs of their students.
Four detailed recommendations are outlined in the guide with respect to systematic instruction, mathematical language, representations, the number line, word problems, and timed activities. Math specialists, math coaches, teachers, and parents may find this guide useful. The full-color PDF of the new guide is accessible here.
