The MDE has designated $1,700,000 in ESSER funds to provide integration of technology and technology supports, sanitizing buildings and PPE for districts with Pre-K classrooms.
The program’s goals are to:
Provide funds for regular education, inclusion, or self-contained three- and four-year-old classrooms in an LEA to provide:
- Technology – hardware devices for students who are served by the local educational agency that aids in regular and substantive educational interaction between students and their classroom instructors, including low-income students and students with disabilities, which may include assistive technology or adaptive equipment
- Technology supports – software and connectivity for students who are served by the local educational agency that aids in regular and substantive educational interaction between students and their classroom instructors, including low-income students and students with disabilities, which may include assistive technology or adaptive equipment
- Sanitizing buildings/classrooms/PPE – supplies to sanitize and clean the facilities of a local educational agency, including buildings operated by such agency
