If you answered “YES”, the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is looking for you!

The National Science Foundation is currently accepting Grades 7-12 nominations and applications for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) Award Program.   PAEMST is the nation’s highest honor for K-12 teachers. Each year, up to 2 teachers are selected as national-level winners from each state and awarded $10,000 each for their personal use.

Nomination process:
Anyone may nominate a teacher by completing the nomination form available on the PAEMST website.  The nomination deadline is March 1, 2021.

Application process:
Teachers are not required to be nominated by someone to complete the application and portfolio process.  They may begin the application process by clicking here.  Completed applications and all supporting materials must be submitted through the PAEMST portal by April 1, 2021.   PAEMST will begin hosting webinars in mid-January to support teachers that may be considering the PAEMST process.
