Mississippi Seeks Public Comment on the State Board Policy Chapter 95, Rule 95.2, the Mississippi Learn to Earn Act
On December 17, 2020, the State Board of Education (SBE) granted approval to begin the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) process to establish State Board Policy Chapter 95, Rule 95.2, the Mississippi Learn to Earn Act. The policy authorizes local school boards, in their discretion, to develop an Extended Learning Opportunity policy that provides alternative learning opportunities to students in grades 9 through 12 for elective course credit. These alternative learning opportunities may include pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, internships, or other experiences approved by the Office of Career and Technical Education.
