It’s time for the statewide Child Count of children (birth–21) with combined hearing and vision impairments of any degree. Please review all students, including those in general education classes and those with complex needs, regardless of IFSP/IEP coding.
A student should be counted if they have an established or suspected condition in both categories:
- Vision: low vision, legal blindness, field loss, light perception only, total blindness, CVI, progressive loss, functioning as visually impaired, or pending evaluation.
- Hearing: mild–profound loss, auditory neuropathy, CAPD, functioning as hearing impaired, or pending evaluation.
Use your December 1 enrollment as the data source.
Reporting is permitted under FERPA §99.31 without prior parental consent.
Please submit using the secure form by Friday, Jan. 30, 2026: 2026 MS Child Identification.
Up to 10 children may be reported per form; additional links are provided as needed.
