20 schools sought for adolescent reading intervention opportunity

The Strategic Education Research Partnership (SERP) Institute is excited to offer an opportunity for 20 schools in Mississippi to participate in a grant-funded experimental design study using the Tier II intervention program – Strategic Adolescent Reading Intervention (STARI).

STARI is an evidence-based literacy intervention program designed to improve reading skills among struggling adolescent readers. The program includes a range of instructional strategies, such as explicit instruction in reading comprehension strategies, teacher modeling of effecting reading practices, and opportunities for independent reading and practice.

The institute is looking for school districts that are interested in participating in this study to implement STARI in their schools.  If you would like to learn more about the program, please complete the interest survey by April 7.  The institute will reach out to those that express interest and provide an informational overview of the STARI opportunity.

This is an excellent opportunity for schools to receive support and resources to help struggling adolescent readers improve their literacy skills.
