Greetings Superintendents and Principals,
It is our hope that you’ve experienced a very productive and successful school year that yields tremendous student outcomes. As you bring the school year to a close, please allow this correspondence to serve as a gentle reminder that the 2018-2019 Mississippi Educator and Administrator Professional Growth System (PGS) score submissions are due on or before June 30, 2019 for all teachers, principals, and assistant principals in accordance with the newly State Board of Education approved Mississippi Public School Accountability [Accreditation] Standard referencing the PGS. For your convenience, please find attached a PDF copy of the PowerPoint presentation used during the PGS related webinar conducted in February 2019 that includes information regarding how to submit your PGS scores.
Should you need assistance locating your SharePoint files/folders, please contact the Office of Technology and Strategic Services (OTSS) at 601-359-3487. Please send all non-technical questions to Dr. Vernesia Wilson via email atmailto:email@example.com or telephone at 601-359-3631.
Call for Additional PGS Pilot Districts
We would also like to offer and ask that you please consider taking advantage of the opportunity to serve as a Mississippi Educator and Administrator Professional Growth System (PGS) pilot school district during the 2019-2020 school year. As you know, the PGS system will be comprised of three major components: Classroom/School Observations, Surveys, and Student Outcomes Measures. Those local school districts selected to participate will also pilot the new observation and data collection tools that are built into the Educator Licensure Management System (ELMS).
If you are interested in serving as a pilot school district OR would like to continue serving as a pilot school district, please contact Dr. Vernesia Wilson via email at mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org before May 31, 2019 acknowledging your school district’s willingness to participate. During the 2019-2020 school year, PGS pilot school districts will be required to attend three (3) face to face meetings and four (4) webinars. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring the continuous growth of Mississippi’s teachers and leaders.
